PROGRAM SUGGESTION:

DAY 1: Arrival in Novi Sad
Arrival in Novi Sad (Neusatz), meeting with the tour guide, hotel accommodation, short city tour and dinner in a traditional restaurant, overnight stay in the hotel

DAY 2: Novi Sad - Petrovaradin - Kladovo
The capital of Vojvodina, the cultural and economic center of the province, lies on the Danube, 75 km northwest of the capital of Serbia. With 300,000 inhabitants, Novi Sad is the second largest city in Serbia. In 1748, Novi Sad (Neusatz) was declared a free royal city by a certificate from Maria Theresa. In the second half of the 19th century Novi Sad was considered the center of Serbian culture and politics in what was then Hungary. At that time the city was called "Serbian Athens". After a city tour and a visit to the famous Petrovaradin Fortress, we leave Novi Sad and drive south to Kladovo. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

DAY 3: Kladovo - Đerdap National Park
The Đerdap gorge (Iron Gate) is located in northeast Serbia and is the largest river gorge in Europe. Due to its geological, hydrological and archaeological features and the rich flora and fauna, Đerdap was declared a national park.
A boat trip through the großarterdap gorge offers the most beautiful experience of the great nature. Here you can see not only beautiful nature, but also very impressive historical monuments.
The Golubac fortress is one of the most beautiful medieval fortresses on the Danube. And the famous Trajan's tablet can only be seen from the water. It bears witness to the fame and power of the emperor Trajan, who in 103 built the path through the Đerdap gorge and the first bridge over the Danube. The Neolithic site of Lepenski Vir, around 8,000 years old, is also part of the national park. After visiting the national parks, we return to our hotel. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

DAY 4: Niš and Felix Romuliana
Historians, geographers and writers have always described the city of Niš as a place where east and west meet, as the gateway between east and west. The city, first called Navissos, later Naissus and Niš by the Slavs, is the birthplace of the Roman emperor "Constantine the Great" (280 BC) who recognized Christianity and proclaimed it as a legal religion. The skull tower from the Ottoman era is a unique sight in Niš: This unique monument was built after the battle of over 3,000 skulls from people who were killed by the Turks.
The Felix Romuliana, not far from Niš, was described as one of the largest and best-preserved Roman buildings in Europe and the completely preserved surrounding wall with 20 mighty, bastion-like towers up to 15 m high offers an impressive picture even today.
The Galerius Palace in ancient Felix Romuliana is an archaeological excavation site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Tetrarch Emperor Galerius (293-311) had the palace built as a retirement home. The facility was dedicated to his mother Romula, who was born nearby in the province of Dacia. On the nearby Magura hill, Galerius left and built his mother's tomb. After a city tour in Niš and a visit to Felix Romuliana, we will try the best grilled specialties in the region.

DAY 5: Belgrade - capital of Serbia
Our journey continues to Belgrade - the capital of Serbia.
The capital of Serbia lies at the mouth of the Sava River in the Danube, between the Panonia plain and the mountainous south. In the 6th century the Slavs crossed the Danube more and more often, so that they founded their own settlement on the stony heights above the Sava estuary - the "White City" - Belgrade. From the 16th to the 19th centuries the city has different names in different languages: Alba Graeca, Alba Bulgarica, Bello grado, Nandor Alba, Greek Weißenburg and Castelbianco, but all names are translations of the Slavic name Belgrade (White City). In the course of its long and turbulent history, Belgrade has been occupied by 40 different armies and has been rebuilt 38 times. During a city tour you will learn about the turbulent history of the Serbian capital and enjoy the Balkan flair of the old town.
In the evening we invite you to a farewell dinner with traditional dishes in the famous Skadarlija old town.
